IT IS WITH REGRET THAT WE HAVE TO REPORT THE DEATH OF MR IOLO DAVIES
Iolo passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday 5th April, aged 89 and a Memorial Service was held in the Holy Cross church, Cowbridge, on June 20th.

Had Cowbridge Grammar School survived it would have celebrated its 400th Anniversary in 2008.
In 1973-4 it, and the Girls High School were replaced by the Cowbridge Comprehensive School.
Although the style may have changed from the old Grammar/High School days, the new school has every reason to be proud of ithe achievements of its pupils both during their school days and in their subsequent careers.
Between these establishments Cowbridge can be justly proud of a tradition of scholastic excellence that streatches back 400 years
In some ways the staff and pupils of the "new" school have built on the tradition of the Grammar and High Schools but in so many others they have established new ones for themseves, perhaps more meaningful to a school looking forward to the 21st century rather than looking back to the 17th.
